Why make costly and time consuming journeys into the centre of Liverpool?

Junction 21 of the M6 is less than 2 miles away, making it as easy to get to Padgate from Knowsley, Huyton, Prescot, or Halewood as is the city centre, and Bootle is less than 45 minutes away.
